Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using ScopeCraft (“Service”) at scopecraft.io or app.scopecraft.io, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. You must be at least 18 years old to use ScopeCraft. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement.

2. Description of Service

ScopeCraft is an AI-assisted tool that helps homeowners create project scope documents and compare contractor bids. The Service supports roofing, bathroom remodel, siding, decks, drywall, painting, fencing, and other residential construction projects. Additional project types may be added in the future.

3. AI-Generated Output Disclaimer

Scope documents and bid comparison reports generated by ScopeCraft are produced using artificial intelligence and are for informational purposes only. They are not professional engineering assessments, licensed contractor estimates, legal advice, or construction specifications. ScopeCraft does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose of any AI-generated output.

You should review all AI-generated content carefully and consult qualified professionals (contractors, engineers, attorneys, or other specialists) before making any decisions about your home improvement project.

4. No Contractor Verification

ScopeCraft does not verify, endorse, or make representations about any contractor, contractor's licensing status, insurance coverage, bonding, pricing, legal terms, permit compliance, or code compliance. Nothing in ScopeCraft's output constitutes a recommendation to hire or not hire any particular contractor.

5. User Responsibility for Contractor Decisions

You are solely responsible for all decisions related to selecting, hiring, contracting with, paying, or terminating any contractor. ScopeCraft is not a party to any agreement between you and a contractor and bears no responsibility for contractor performance, workmanship, disputes, change orders, delays, cost overruns, construction defects, or any other project outcome.

6. Uploaded Documents

By uploading contractor bid documents or any other files to ScopeCraft, you represent that you have the right to share those documents and grant ScopeCraft a limited, non-exclusive license to process them (including extracting text and sending content to our AI processing providers) solely to provide the Service to you. We will not share your uploaded documents with other users or third parties except as necessary to operate the Service (see our Privacy Policy).

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Do not share your password with others. Notify us immediately at support@scopecraft.io if you believe your account has been compromised. ScopeCraft is not liable for loss or damage resulting from unauthorized access to your account where you have failed to keep your credentials secure.

9. Prohibited Uses

You may not use ScopeCraft to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation.
• Commercially resell, sublicense, or redistribute AI-generated outputs without our written permission.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract our underlying AI models or data.
• Upload documents you do not have the right to share.
• Use the Service to defraud, harass, or harm others.
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service or its infrastructure.

10. Intellectual Property

The ScopeCraft website, application, brand, and underlying technology are owned by ScopeCraft and protected by intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of the project data and documents you create using the Service. AI-generated outputs produced from your inputs are provided to you for your personal use.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SCOPECRAFT AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO SCOPECRAFT IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR (B) $50.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ScopeCraft and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or use of the Service shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Washington, unless otherwise required by applicable law.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a revised date. If we make material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you (e.g. by email or a notice in the app). Continued use of ScopeCraft after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
